All signage on public thoroughfares in Pickens County is subject to regulation by county ordinance. See Pickens County Ordinances: Chapter 4 for details concerning allowable signs.

The one-time charge for a permit is $1.00/square foot with a minimum charge of $25.00. If the sign is “two-sided,” there is a charge for each side.

Prior to erecting any signage, you must have a permit issued by the Office of Planning and Development. An application is available at the Planning and Development Office or download it here.

Be sure to include in the description on you application:

• the size
• a picture or drawing
• and the type of sign [see Ordinance]
