Land Disturbing Permit
Land Disturbing Permit Process
Please submit three (3) copies of the proposed Land Disturbing Plan along with a current Plan Review Checklist. You can obtain this checklist here or your surveyor / engineer should have them. Pickens County can get you a copy as well if needed.
Once you have submitted the complete plans and applications, Pickens County will process the plans through Limestone Valley Soil and Water Conservation District for the technical review. If the plans need adjustments or changes Pickens County will relay that information to your design professional.
When the plans have been approved Pickens County will notify you as well. At that point Pickens County will be able to issue you a Land Disturbing Permit. Current fees for a Land Disturbing Permit are $500.00 + $10.00 per acre for both Commercial and General Land Disturbing Permits. A fee of $250.00 will be assessed if modifications are made to the plan after it has been approved.
Please contact the Pickens County Planning and Development office at 706-253-8850 if you need any assistance.
